FAQ

Have a burning question about this blog, my writing, or me as the author? Let me do my best to cover the most commonly asked questions people tend to have.

Why did you create this blog?

I created Of Wanderings and Words as a quiet outpost — a place to reflect, create, and share thoughts outside the noise of larger platforms. (I'm pretty old-school when it comes to the internet, so I get truly tired of worrying about algorithms sometimes.) It’s part personal journal, part creative practice, part offering to anyone who might find resonance here.

What kind of content will I find here?

Mostly personal essays, reflections, creative musings, and occasional updates about larger projects. Sometimes I post actionable tips and creative advice for other writers who are interested in reconnecting with their creativity, trying their hand at freelancing, or leveraging tools to get more out of the entire process.

How often do you post?

I don't maintain a rigid posting schedule, especially here, as this is my sandbox for posting as I please. Some seasons are prolific. Others are quieter. I believe in honoring natural creative rhythms rather than forcing them, but I also do my best to be as consistent as possible. Lately, I've been updating about twice a week, and that feels like a good balance for me right now.

Is everything here recent?

Pretty much. Of Wanderings and Words has technically been around a long time and received multiple facelifts over the years. But until recently, it lived over on Blogger. When I moved it to Ghost, I didn't migrate all of my content. Just the stuff that reflects who I currently am and where I am in my blogging journal now to keep things cohesive.

Are you open to comments, feedback, or contact?

Currently, direct contact is possible through my contact page or via my social media accounts, which are listed on my offerings page. Commenting capabilities are available to users who join my community here. Thoughtful communication is welcome, but know that I maintain strong boundaries around my creative spaces. I don't tolerate combative comments, spam, or trollish behavior of any kind.

Can I share your posts elsewhere?

If something resonates with you and you'd like to share it, please do so with credit and a link back to the original post. These words are personal. Offered freely, but still uniquely mine.

Do you offer writing or creative services?

Yes. I balance my personal creative work with freelance and professional opportunities where and when they align with my values. You can learn more about the services I offer on my services page. I don't take on every prospective client who reaches out, but I am always open to discussing new opportunities.

What's Feast of the Wandering Pen?

Feast of the Wandering Pen is a creative ritual and writing challenge that follows the cycle of the moon, an invitation to show up to the page every day between new moons. It's less about word counts and more about maintaining a living, breathing relationship with creativity. You can learn more here.

If you have a question not answered here, you're welcome to reach out through my contact page, though please understand I may choose to keep some aspects of this space private and personal.
